Abstract

Abstract:

The Arabic language is one of the most important means of preserving Arab and Islamic identity, and its role in understanding Islamic Sharia sciences is undeniable, despite the contemporary challenges it faces. The importance of this research lies in the role of the Arabic language in understanding Islamic Sharia sciences in light of contemporary challenges that may hinder this understanding for specialists and others. The research problem lies in the difficulty of understanding Sharia texts for a number of specialists in Islamic Sharia on the one hand, and the weakness of the Arabic language in light of contemporary challenges on the other hand, which affects the understanding of Sharia sciences. Therefore, this topic was chosen, and this research used the descriptive analytical method. The research aims to: demonstrate the role of the Arabic language in understanding Sharia sciences in light of contemporary challenges, such as Qur’anic sciences and readings, jurisprudence and its principles, etc. The research is organized into an introduction, four chapters, a conclusion, an index, and sources and references. The introduction addressed the reason for choosing this topic, its problem, the research questions, the research objectives, and the research structure. The first chapter addresses the role of the Arabic language in understanding the sciences of Quranic readings and phonetics in light of contemporary challenges. The second chapter examines the role of the Arabic language in deriving legal rulings in light of contemporary challenges. The third chapter explores the role of grammar in understanding Islamic law in light of contemporary challenges. The fourth chapter discusses the role of rhetoric in elucidating the miraculous nature of the Quran in light of contemporary challenges. The study concludes with key findings and recommendations, and lists major sources and references. Among the most significant findings is that contemporary challenges threaten the relationship between language and Islamic law. These challenges include the weak linguistic proficiency of students, the dominance of superficial education, and the reliance on Western curricula that neglect the unique characteristics of the Quranic text. Furthermore, the separation of Islamic law and language studies in modern university curricula has contributed to weakening the ability to deduce rulings and appreciate rhetorical nuances, negatively impacting the quality of legal opinions and interpretations.
