The study focuses on the cognitive integration between Arabic Language sciences and Islamic sciences, specifically highlighting the relationship between Usul al-Fiqh and Arabic Grammar. The word is recognized as the essential building block of speech and communication.
This research, titled " The Word Between Grammarians and Fundamentalists – An Analytical Comparative Study," comparatively analyzes the concept and divisions of the word according to both groups.
Key findings include:
- Definition of the Word: Grammarians defined the word as a singular utterance with inherent meaning. Scholars of Usul al-Fiqh adopted a fundamentally similar definition, adapting their focus to serve their primary goal: understanding and extracting rulings from Sharia discourse.
- Divisions: Grammarians established the standard tripartite division of the word (Noun, Verb, and Particle/Letter) based on linguistic induction and analysis. The Usuliyyin generally agreed with this classification.
- Variations: While the three main parts are standard, some ancient and modern Grammarians proposed more than seven divisions. Conversely, some Usuliyyin limited the divisions to five, reflecting differing analytical needs.
